At first I wasn't that thrilled, I thought it would be fluffier/fuller. And, the shams looked really cheap. However, I went and checked out some other down comfronters and realized that they were the same fill as mine and they were 6x the price. After a nights sleep I was in love. It was soft, soothing, and warm. The next day I matched it with a bright pink 300TC sateen sheet set from Amazon and it really made it pop. The next day when I came in from work I felt like I was in a new room, it even looked as if I spent much more than I did. It's a great buy. The shams are still cheap looking but you can dress them up with extra pillows from the money you save.
Great deal November 2, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
$39.99 for a great little comforter set. Got the chocolate brown one to put on bed in our lake cabin, and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality. Very warm, soft, and nice looking. Comes with comforter, 2 shams, and bed skirt. We got free shipping, so even better deal.
Good Deal October 28, 2006 This seems identical to what Macys (Charter Club brand) was selling last year for $120.00 except you also get a tailored bedskirt with this set.
I have a queen bed and ordered the king size because the comforter, even in king size, will barely cover the sides of a 7 inch high queen mattress. I never had king pillows and the shams with the king set look huge.
It says dry clean only for the comforter (skirt says machine wash cold). I've laundered the one I bought last year several times and it got a bit softer without disturbing the appearance and function. It's okay to spot clean microsuede.
When you remove it from the shipping box and bag shake it out and let it lay on your bed for several hours to let it gain it's shape and thickness. You should fluff it like you do your feather pillows everyday.
It's quite comfortable and you'll rarely have a problem with feathers/down coming out. My girlfriend loves these and bought a few for Christmas presents.
