This is the best buy in timepieces for the money. It has an easy to read face; it is DAY DATE as opposed to just day of the month; it is rugged; it needs no battery; it is deadly accurate. I have two of them!

I just needed a decent watch that kept good time, and one that didn't require arm movement or battery changes. This watch fits the bill. It is an excellent value, and several friends have said they intended to order one. If I were ordering again, I'd get the one without day/date, but that's just personal preference. I find that I never actually use that feature, it busies up the face a little, and it's one last thing to adjust at the end of the month.

Watch is highly accurate (it appears to be 3 secs fast per week)
nice looking (if you like "military"), solid feel.
Watch is unexpectedly heavy for "stainless steel".
Is part of the body brass ?
I would have preferred "brushed stainless steel" anyway.
The surface looks shiny as if "nickel plated".
Not the "outdoor" finish, it appears to have in the photograph.
The BIG disappointment however was the fabric strap:
After one week (only) of inserting the strap into the
sleeve guide, the little sleeve was blocked.
Reason, the inside of the sleeve is NOT sewn,
but GLUED (with contact glue ?).
I now have a big mess, where the strap-end (the part
which is inserted into the sleeve) is all sticky/ guey
with this glue.
I tried re-glueing with a "will be solid after curing" wood glue.
Not a good idea, looks awful.
Really disappointed in CITIZEN, at this price
($89.-) they should be able to do better.

I bought this watch over a year ago, and it has proven to be my best watch ever (and I've had a lot of them). It keeps perfect time, and it is very easy to read with the big numbers. I love the Day/date feature, and it's ease in changing the date at the end of a short month.
Also, at night the hands stay illuminated for about two hours after it gets dark which makes telling time at night incredibly easy, especially when I'm camping. All in all, just a great watch.
