Large Face March 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The face on this watch is bigger than it looks. If you have difficulty reading smaller numbers, I recommend this watch. If you are tired of people asking you what time it is, this watch is great because anyone within a few feet of you can already see the time =)
The Silent Alarm March 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm fairly happy with this watch. I'd just like to point out a few things that I wish I had been aware of before I purchased it.
The alarm is nearly useless. Unless you are in a location with ZERO ambient sound, you most likely will not hear this unless you have the watch pressed to your head. It is that quiet of an alarm.
The Indiglo feature is not the glowing face I would have preferred but instead the numerals glow green and the clock face has a faint glow to it. Only takes a little getting used to, but it isn't possible to use this watch as an impromptu flashlight to search for things in the dark. Also, during twilight hours, the time is near impossible to read in either unlit mode or with the indiglo activated.
The watch band is really weird. It seems to be sized for a childs wrist. Even though it is long enough, it wants to pinch your wrist tightly. This is sort of hard to explain, but for example, where a regular watch and band would lay flat if you were to take it off and lay it on a table, this one will not since it has been designed in such a way that the band leaves the body of the watch at an extreme angle from the plane of the watch. This makes it sometimes difficult to view the watch without really twisting your entire arm to get it onto a parallel plane as your eyes.
otherwise, i'm happy with this watch, and it was cheap.
a very good daily watch January 26, 2008 I used a timex Ironman watch years ago. I needed an inexpensive daily watch with an alarm. I compared some Ironman watches. This particular watch seems little bulky. Yet, it is light. It has so many features. I like having so many alarms.(5).I also use timer a lot. It keeps the last timer used in its memory, which is great. You need to read the manual to figure chronometer out. It is little complicated, but you get used to it.
It is pretty accurate. The watch is one to two seconds slow every week. It is very easy to adjust it. I have an atomic watch at home. Usually, twice a month I correct the time.
I recommend this watch.
Great Watch, where are the replacement bands? January 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have ZERO complaint about the watch. I replaced my 30 lap timex with this one since Marathons in Japan are in KM, so I needed something with over 30 lap max.
My deployment in Iraq ended up cracking the band and I couldn't find an exact duplicate of the rubber wristband...i had to settle for a nylon/velcro band...and I still had to alter it a bit for it fit in there right.
Even with my Polar heartrate monitor watch, I still like this one for its simplicity for Timing and alarms. Not sure what someone would need more than this if you aren't monitor your heart rate or speed...the watch is perfect for the basic needs.
5 Stars if exact replacement bands were available in stores.
Great watch January 18, 2008 The watch is great. I bought it for my husband and he really liked it. One thing he raved about is how it fit.
