Another sleek and classy Skagen April 28, 2008 Folllowing the style of Skagen's other ultra slim line titanium mesh watches, this watch is a winner all the way. The finish is high polish metal on the watch and mesh band. The face is a pearly white, looking much more striking in real life than in the photo. The overall look is very classy and expensive looking. Very slim and light on the wrist, this watch is a very dressy accessory. Highly recommended.
Nice Watch, Weak Band March 30, 2008 My wife bought me this watch 2 years ago. I have enjoyed the sleek fit and comfort, but have had nothing but problems with the band. I must admit, I am probably pretty hard on my watches, but I have had to replace the band 3 times now (at $25 a pop). What happens is if you kink the band in any way, the wires that make them up will start to fail leaving you with sharp edges that catch on your shirts, and anyone within arm shot of you. I have not been able to find another band that will fit this watch. Too bad because it really is a nice looking piece.
Slim, comfortable, but too delicate March 4, 2008 The watch was a favorite of mine for a number of years. Lightweight, adjustable and breathable wristband; very slim. BUT, after the battery was replaced, the seal failed and the watch died. I ordered a replacement through Amazon at a very low price. The crystal cracked when bumped. Same thing on the second replacement. Toughen the glass, please.
Excellent Watch January 10, 2008 I ordered a Skagen watch for myself and liked it so much (quality, appearance, price) that I ordered one for my husband. He was also pleased. It's a good deal.
Nice Looking, But Just Doesn't Last January 7, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I'm not surprised to see that most of the positive reviews here are from fairly new owners of this watch. I bought mine at a retail store and really loved it for the first 6 months until the movement died and I had to send it back to Skagen for coverage under the warranty. After they sent me a new watch (more about that later), it lasted another 8 mos until I thought the battery died. It turns out that the movement broke on the replacement watch as well. I'm not even going to try and send it back again. It's a shame because it really is a nice looking watch, it just doesn't last. In addition to the movement problems, my one year-old bent the band back and kinked the mesh, breaking several wires on the side which I found myself always struggling to keep from snagging my shirts.
Now to the "warranty repair": I sent the first watch to the official Skagen's North America repair center per the directions on the warranty card. After a month began calling and left 6 messages with their service dept. over a period of 4 weeks attempting to check on the status of the repair. I finally talked to someone through their sales staff who took my info. Fortunately I got a manager's name and after two weeks and sending them proof of delivery from DHL twice, got them to admit that they lost my watch. Three weeks later I received a replacement. Now you see why I don't want to go through this again.
In summary, it's a nice watch, especially for the low price here at Amazon. It just doesn't last.
