nicer online than it is in person April 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had wanted to get this for a while as a gift for a friend. she loves atlases, maps, and globes so i thought this would be perfect.
it is beautiful online, but i was slightly unimpressed when i received it in the mail. it doesn't come with a chain and it is quite small. if i had to make the decision again, i think i would still buy it but ONLY because the idea of it was too perfect and there's nothing else like it out there.
but other than that i would not think it is value for money.

I bought this for me, as a reward more or less. But now that it is in my possession I kinda want to buy another and use it to inspire a friend or something. It is beautifully crafted and kinda fun to play with. I would definitely suggest this piece.

The earth is very unclear and the holder rough looking. I was expecting a more fine piece of jewelry.
Globe Cage - Not Recommended - Globe Lost Forever March 7, 2008 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this as a gift for my father - he loves men's jewelry and especially unique items as I thought this might be.
Well he was totally amused -this is not a gift for any man I know unless he is very effeminate - which my father is not. It is very small and FRAGILE, including the chain they recommended. So my dad respectfully returned this gift to me and since I liked it I decided to keep it for myself. I gave him a bluetooth headset instead.
I placed the necklace around my neck and noticed that the sphere `s(holder) clasp did not fasten as securely as it should; however it should have kept until I returned home. WRONG - as you may have guessed, by the time I arrived home, the globe was nowhere to be found and now all I have is the sphere and a really cheesy chain.
I think the globe, though very small, is beautiful and unique. But the holder clasp should lock more securely than it does - I imagine many of you also no longer have your globes. I hope Silver Insanity reads this - they must already know that the clasp on this piece is totally inadequate and they should correct this before selling anymore. Then they should stop recommending the cheesy necklace to go with it. Purchase a better quality necklace.
