This is my third pair of Oxford shoes from Timberline and it is the only dress shoe that I will purchase again. I purchased my first pair before a trip to Europe; I took only this one pair to conserve on packing. I walked all over Rome and even attended a very formal wedding. The shoe was so comfortable and versatile that I continued to use them as my every day work shoe (business casual) for over two years. When they final wore out (after 2+ years of daily continual use), I purchased another and then another.

When it comes to appearance, this shoe is as plain as you can get. Black leather uppers, black shoestrings, black sole, etc. However, they are also very attractive and looks rather smart when paired with dark colored jeans.
This is a high quality leather shoe. The waterproof leather used in the uppers are very supple. The substantial sole is sturdy, but like the uppers, very supple. The orange lining on the inside is high quality, and presents an interesting contrast to the exterior of the shoe. This shoe also has Timberland's Smart Comfort technology. My pair did not require any break in period. They were comfortable from the start.
There are plenty of black, waterproof oxfords out there. I had a tough time deciding between these Timberlands and a pair of Rockports. They both shared the same aesthetic style and waterproof characteristics. The Rockports had a slightly square shaped toe, as opposed to this one's rounded shape. I chose the Timberlands because I already had the same pair of Rockports in brown.
I can readily recommend this Timberland model to anyone who is looking for a pair of black oxfords. They can be worn casually, with jeans. Or you can also wear them at the office with dark colored chinos. If you prefer, you can apply a little wax for added shine.
