Product Description High style in a low-profile oxford. Classic 5-eyelet oxford has a padded collar for extra comfort and a soft leather upper for zero break-in time. Updated flex-link sole absorbs footfall shock from heel to forefoot. Imported.
Product Description What more can a shoe offer you than comfort and longevity? These Unisex 5 Eye Padded Collar shoes from Dr. Martens promise all that and a ruggedly attractive style that will even work at the office. If you're on your feet all day, you'll appreciate the Flexlink sole technology, and if you're watching your budget, the Goodyear welt construction will ensure that these will be looking and feeling good for a long time to come. Benefits of Flexlink Technology As the foot flexes, the Flexlink technology in the forefoot filler softens the compression. An Ortholite insole with open cell foam increases breathability and aids in shock absorption. A leather-hinged footbed flexes in tandem with the Flexlink forefoot to enhance flexibility and comfort. Finally, a unique compression chamber cushion system absorbs footfall shock from heel to forefoot. About Dr. Martens Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460 (1/4/60). To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

New models are being made too small January 7, 2009 My boyfriend has a pair of these in brown and I bought him a pair of them in black for Christmas. When he tried them on, they were way too small, we returned them to amazon and went to several stores to get a replacement pair, but all of them were too small ! I'm thinking they are making them a bit smaller then in years past, its the only thing that makes sense and because they don't have 1/2 sizes he's just out of luck.
Union SQ stores SUCK A$$ January 3, 2009 Waiting a half hour for ONE pair of shoes, And after that ordeal they only have a display model that's been worn by some dirty persons foot. Not to mention it being stretched out half a size...Unbelievable that such things could come from a business environment. Oh and since you can't understand those Nigerians I asked someone else for help and got repremanded for trying to find someone with comprehensible english speaking skills. OVER ALL DONT SHOP THERE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME (30+mins) OR MONEY...
Docs Rocks December 5, 2008 One of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever worn. Plus, they outlast shoes costing many times more, and certainly many times those cheaper shoes. I would rather pay 60-80 for a pair of shoes that last 2 years or more than pay 25 for shoes that last for 3 months....
Great Buy November 19, 2008 I bought these shoes as a present to my boyfriend who works in a casual bank. He totally loved them and said that they are very comfortable, and, I must say, quite fashionable
Great shoe, great value. October 31, 2008 I bought this shoe on sale and received it within a few days, even with Amazon's free shipping. The shoes seem to run about a half size smaller than my other Doc's but that worked out well since I'm more of a 9 1/2 than a size 10. There is a slight difference between these shoes made in China and my boots which were made in England but the finish looked fine and after a week they're almost broken in. I'm very happy with the shoes and getting them for less than $60 is a steal!
