perfect shoe helps me conquer defeat February 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It fits really well to my feet, if your feet are the same as mine they will definitely fit you too. I bought these shoes for an extreme pentathalon: a marathon (26.2 miles) running, biking (50mi), shotput (400 yards), archery (20 arrows), and badminton (3 sets) all through water 4 yards deep. I certainly reviewed many candidates and finally chose these, I would never risk defeat in such an event with shoes that cost less than $24. I won the race in 18.5 hours continuous hours running all the way through with these shoes (first ever use in badminton, my opponents could not believe that I could spin the shuttlecock with such dexterity). At around my 5th arrow in my quivver I started to lose focus. Then I thought of all the hard work and dedication that the folks at SPERRY put into these shoes, and I thought, "what the hell, let's win one of the TOPSIDER!" I didn't had a chance to try to adjust my shoes even after my toes were worn down to the foot because I was so far in the lead that I could not even see my opponents, it was like they were in a different race or something oh well, they must have been wearing a competitor's shoes! I was able to break one of my arrows into small pieces and use them for toes, these shoes never stop fitting for me! I would recommend this for all you fake underwater pentathaletes, you better reconize, SPERRY TOPSIDER!
Manufacturing Flaw February 22, 2008 I ordered a pair of these for my vacation. When they arrived, I discovered a manufacturing flaw in the stiching. As I did not have enough time to return them for a different pair, and they would not overnight me a new pair, I had to take my new shoes to the shoe repair shop and pay to have them sowed up. At least they did not fall apart on my vacation.
Fit narrow feet really well! December 16, 2007 I have "B" width feet. Although these water shoes are advertised as "M" width, I could see from the photo that they're narrower than M. So I took a chance and ordered a pair. I'm happy to report that they fit great! The construction is good and I believe that they'll be durable.
Almost perfect August 21, 2007 It fits like a glove, very comfortable, doesn't slip on wet. I bought these shoes for an extreme race: a marathon (26.2 miles) running through water in a 4 yd deep swimming pool. I certainly reviewed many candidates and finally chose these. I won the race in 14 continuous hours running all the way through with these shoes (first use in the race, and making it clear I wore them using spandex-elastane socks). At around 10 miles, the insole in one shoe (which is glued in) started to slip forward into the toe box. I didn't had a chance to try to pull/slide it back into place (because I was at the lead and couldn't stop), so I kept running that way and when finishing I was a little injured because of that, but nothing serious. I was able to place the insole again on it's place, and it seemed to stay firm there again. They're very hidrodynamic (don't drag with the water), and very light, both attributes feeling as great as I were in bare feet, but also very protected from the rough floor of the swimming pool. Everything perfect, just for the insole detail (which doesn't meet the quality of the rest of the shoe).
Good for the beach November 6, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This shoe works as it is supposed to do. I use it because instead of going barefoot when I have to go long distances, jog, or if I'm not sure that there aren't sharp stones, shells, or chards of glass in the sand or on the pavements close to the beach. The only problem is that the fabric/material picks up stains easily that do not come off.
