Product Description Cuisinart DGB-300BK 10 cup coffee maker, black. Freshly ground coffee: The coffeemaker lets you grind your favorite coffee beans and then automatically puts the grounds into the filter to brew. Fully programmable with an easy to read LCD display for auto-on function and variable heater plate setting. Great Taste: The coffee bar flavor system is the same special brewing system found in commercial coffeemakers. Simply set the number of cups being brewed, for coffee bar flavor at home. Long lasting taste: The Taste KeeperTM lid is designed to minimize oxygen flow into the carafe so coffee stays fresher, longer. Express Coffee: The brew pause feature allows you to pour a cup of coffee before brewing has finished. Consistent Flavor: The 1-4 cup setting allows you to make only a cup or two without altering the flavor of the brew. Variable automatic shutoff, self clean setting with time to clean monitor, grind off function, 1-4 cup setting, large LCD clock, cord storage, gold tone filter and 3-year limited warranty.
Amazon.com Review For coffee that's as fresh as the neighborhood coffee shop, but served at home, try Cuisinart's Automatic Grind and Brew coffeemaker. It makes it easy to enjoy fresh coffee with the utmost convenience--ground whole-bean coffee pours directly into the filter basket at a pre-set time for instant brewing. The maker does all the thinking, with a range of programmable features: set the machine to grind and brew at exactly the right time, predetermine the coffee's temperature, and program the machine to turn off a half-hour later.Other features take the guess work out of coffeemaking as well: the flavor setting ensures the optimal amount of water is used for a rich, aromatic taste and no acidity or bitterness, and the large easy-view water window makes sure the right amount of water is added. The gold-tone permanent filter also enhances coffee flavor for a hardy, rich taste. A self-clean feature lets you know when calcium buildup is interfering with the machine's operation; turn on the self-clean cycle to make quick work of grime. Daily cleaning of the machine is somewhat involved since all individual parts must be removed, so prepare for slightly longer clean up in exchange for time-saving upfront. Two additional caveats: The grinder is noisy, as most grinders are, and cannot be turned off midgrind. And the coffee bar is taller than average coffee machines, so make sure you have a spot for it with plenty of below cupboard space. --Emily Wolf

This is our third unit--worth the money November 28, 2008 I just ordered our third DGB for a mere $69. After reading product reviews of the new Burr Grind and Brew, I opted to stick with our tried-and-true white DGB.
I bought our first 2 DGBs together. They were reconditioned by Cuisinart, and cost me only $25 and $35, shipping included, through the Amazon Outlet store.
I ruined the first unit by trying to remove coffee/bean staining on the water reservoir by using diluted Pine-Sol. I should have known better (note: pine oil stays in plastic. Taste and odor both). I kept all parts: carafe, filter basket, grinding cover and unit cover so have used our second unit, with interchangable parts (we rinse and put them in the dishwasher daily) every day. The brew n pause feature is beginning to not work as well and has leaked the last two mornings. Other than that, the unit still works fine.
I orderd this third unit because I see this model is discontinued now.
Pros: Great, very inexpensive unit. Not difficult to clean any more than any other kitchen item. This unit comes with a gold filter I just noticed, which we just bought..so we'll have an extra. Temperature control feature is handy. We roast our own beans now (organic only costs us $5/pound) and I can't get better coffee from any retail coffee brewer. This is the way to go if you love the best coffee--coffee at home that you brew yourself.
Cons: Plastic parts seem to fail after a while, as in the brew and pause feature. It's possible we may have lost a spring or part, but they all appear to be there. We use our coffeemaker daily and twice during the holidays.
Note: the grinding noise is a bit noisy, but not one I mind at all. Hearing the grinder go off at 6am each morning to me is a sound I love: I know my coffee will be ready for me when I wake up. Several seconds after the grinidng noise stops (about 12 seconds), I begin to be awakened by the glorious aroma of my fresh-roasted (by me), fresh ground and brewed (by Cuisinart) coffee. A great way to start the day.
Great coffee maker.... October 7, 2008 Well, I don't understand why all the hate for this little machine. It's a darn good coffee maker. We've been using this machine for 2 years now, with excellent results every time. OK, sure, the labels can rub off if you use Windex, but, this will happen with ANY kitchen product these days.
Anyway, it grinds very well, works just fine, and makes a great cup O' Joe!

great coffeemaker September 20, 2008 Wonderful product difficult to find as it is discontinued. Like it better than current models. Received my coffeemaker quickly and it works great! If you are looking for a basic grind and brew coffeemaker with a trusted brand name....this is for you!
Cuisinart Grind and Brew September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this to replace a white Melitta grind and brew, which we loved but had just worn out. The Melitta's are no longer available in white. I am pleased with the Cuisinart. The price was certainly right. It makes a great cup of coffee. The unit is larger, I would've preferred a more slim-lined size. Overall, I am very satisfied.
Good Coffee - Lasted 5 years for me August 25, 2008 I had two of this model. Each worked for about 5 years. The last one had its motor just shut down on me. Still - I think that is good compared to what other reviewers reported. I mean - how long should these last? 20 years? I don't know. Anyway, 4 stars for holding up to everyday use while producing great, consistent coffee.
I used mine EVERY day... never had the labels wear off the machine, never broke a part. I guess I was more careful with mine than other people? I cleaned it and even used the dishwasher on some parts. For me, the problems I had were with the internal motor/grinder. Each model I owned retired after 5 years.
Otherwise, this gave the BEST coffee I have ever made at home. Fresh ground coffee - and those who know it can tell a good coffee. After about ten combined years of owning this one model, I am looking around to see if there are more advanced models out there.... but for the third time, I may choose this model again as the others don't seem to look or work much better. For me, calling Customer Service about my coffee maker is not an option. I will be too far gone by that point... and so will that coffee maker.
