Product Description Ideal for grating citrus zest, hard cheese, nuts, ginger & garlic Surgical grade 18/8 stainless steel patented razor sharp blades Comfortable santaprene handle with ergonomic grip Non-clogging teeth Dishwasher safe Grating area 4-7/8" x 2" Overall length 11", Overall width 2-3/4"
Amazon.com Review For finely minced garlic or ginger this is the perfect grater. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating. But this also means you'll need to exercise extra caution--no one likes grated knuckles. For ease in resting the grater on the counter while in use, there's a hard acrylic frame around the metal. The frame also prevents scratches to your countertop. The large handle allows for a firm grip, and the slightly curved grating surface makes it easy to use with oddly shaped chunks of ginger or garlic cloves. It's also an excellent choice for microshreds of citrus zest. --Jill Lightner

Upgrade to the Professional Version September 6, 2008 These Microplane graters are wonderful, but I recommend the Professional versions instead. If you use your graters a lot, the plastic edges will eventually break, so spend the extra few dollars and get the steel edged Professional versions to start with. I just replaced two graters myself because they broke.
Fine grater May 15, 2008 This is just an awesome tool to use for a quick grating of just about anything directly into whatever I'm making. Just a wonderful tool. Kris
Excellent Product April 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent product and the case is quite useful. The product arrived on time as well.
Brilliant !! March 31, 2008 I bought this to finely grate ginger for asian dishes - this item exceeded my highest expectations! It grated the ginger to so finely and easily that I was converted instantly. And the sliding attachment (by the same company) saved my fingers, especially with smaller ginger pieces. It worked just as well on garlic. I love it so much, that I puchased the coarse grater. You will not be disappointed!
Not Sturdy February 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As others say, it works very well but it is not sturdy and if you put too much perpendicular pressure on it as you grate, which is not hard to do, the plastic breaks. The metal itself is very thin and offers no bending resistance, so once the plastic breaks you lose most of the utility of the grater.
Now that they are $10 it might be worth it to buy one and use it till it breaks and buy another because one that's whole really does work well.
