Great for the price July 25, 2008 You can't really beat a queen sized comforter for 40 bucks. The only issue I have- the feathers poke out a little more than normal, but with a soft duvet cover you're golden. Bought it for my toddler and am extremely satisfied with the purchase. I don't expect it to last too long, but for now it certainly does the trick.
You get what you pay for July 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was not to picky about the comforter I picked, so I got this one. I just wanted another blanket on my bed. I got this one and was very happy with it... UNTIL I washed it. It smells like something died in my dryer. I cannot get the smell out of the blanket. It did not smell till I washed it. I have been airing it out for 4 days now, and it still smells like something dead!! YUCK!!!
Crunchy July 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my oversized king mattress. I was having a very hard time finding an oversized down comforter to cover my 15" mattress for an affordable price. The cover on the down is not very soft; luckily I have an incredibly soft duvet. So I wouldn't recommend using this comforter without a duvet cover. It did fit in the king Biltmore duvet I bought from Amazon perfectly. So I don't totally regret buying it.. But I'd prefer something nicer. Down comforters are not suppose to sound/feel crunchy. There is definitely quill feathers in it.. a lot.. and there shouldn't be. I bought a Cal-King size 108x98 and my duvet is 110x98. the fullness of the comforter is just right, it does fluff up well.
Low cost and quality July 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered this comforter because it was cheap and seemed to have good reviews. Also, the title describes it as a "goose down" comforter. This is misleading, as the comforter only contains 5% goose down and 95% other types of feather. It's still a warm blanket, but the feathers often poke through, and they can be kind of sharp. Sharpness is perhaps not the best quality in a comforter.
I give this product 2 stars. I would have given it one star, but after I bought it, I saw that the product details do list this item as only being 5% goose down. I just want to prevent others from being misled like I was.
okay, but wouldn't buy again May 8, 2008 This comforter is heavy and warm, which was what I wanted, but little feathers do poke through the fabric, which is really irritating, plus it means the stuffing is leaking out. I had to buy a duvet cover (which was more expensive than the comforter!) for it to solve the problem; I should have just bought a higher quality comforter in the first place. Also, wrestling a heavy king-size comforter into a duvet cover is a 2-person job.
