BIG and BOLD Statement July 2, 2008 I bought this watch during an Invicta Watch Of The Week sale, for $99. I had seen it at the mall for $279. I would really recommend getting to the mall and checking it out for yourself, if possible, because, let me tell you this much, Lupahs are BIG watches. Very striking, bold, and BIG. Right now, this watch is on my wrist, and has become my favorite watch in my collection. They are not as flashy as, say, some of the "blinged out" Ecko watches. I wanted bold, not flashy.
It keeps great time, the chronograph is easy to use. Also, be aware of the different Lupahs - Grand, Dragons, etc ... the Grand Zen (here) is the biggest one, and comes with a fabric "deployment clasp" band. The Dragon (which I also own) is a bit smaller, with similar chronograph functionality, and has a "faux" leather buckle strap. Some people have seen these watches on Shop NBC, and have posted comments/reviews stating it was not what they thought it should be, based upon seeing it on the show.
If you like it, buy it here. I was shopping for this watch for weeks, and almost bought it for $160. The price here is typically good (the sale price of $99 was outstanding) and if you use Amazon you get free shipping and their return/exchange policy is excellent.
Awesome watch May 21, 2008 I love the watch. I looks to be very well made and was definatly a great deal for the price. The white face and blue hands look great. The watch is huge though so be prepared for that. It's almost like a wrist clock than a wrist watch.
Invicta Men's Lupah Collection Grand Zen Chronograph review May 19, 2008 The "Invicta Men's Lupah Collection Grand Zen Chronograph" is a distinctive, multi-functional time piece. The raised crystal enhances the visual impact to both the wearer and the observer, while magnifying the multiple dials that "carve" an hour or minute into its component parts. The wrist band takes some getting accustomed to; its unique structure complements the overall watch design by being complicated, ingenuous and satisfying in the degree of adjustments available to fit any wrist. For my needs I wish it included an alarm function.
Beautiful, but Big May 17, 2008 This is a big wristwatch, the largest I've ever seen. At first, I thought it was too large, but as I get more familiar with it, I find that I am starting to like it more. My main problem with the watch is now with the band. I really like how it feels and looks after I get it on. However, it is difficult to put on. I think it was desgned for someone whose hand is only slightly larger than their wrist. In that case, I think it would come off easily by releasing the clasp. However, in my case, I have to completely disassemble it to get it over my hand. Then, to put it on, I have to push a pin on the clasp up through a hole in the band from underneath. It is somewhat difficult to get the pin in the proper hole when you can't see the pin. Otherwise, the watch is great.
"GRAND" Zen - EXTRAORDINARY Size May 6, 2008 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a nice watch but you've got to have a pretty large wrist to wear this thing. I figured that the perfect size for this timepiece would be approx. 9 1/2" wrist, give or take a half inch. My wrist is about 7 + 5/8." Unfortunately, even on the smallest setting, the watch slid back and forth on my forearm.
I know now why they use the specific wording "Grand" Zen or "Grand" Lupah. Notice the strap length says "mens," that means it's longer than the "men's standard." Most likely it will be at least a 10" watch strap. Also realize that the dial is a much larger rectangular size than what is shown in the picture. The picture makes it look like it has a dull silver to it... it's a very shiny stainless steal that gives the watch a different look. I don't know why they don't show that, it looks great with the stainless steal casting. Also, the minute and hour hands are a dark blue in most lights.
If you're a fairly big guy then you won't have any probems with this watch. I think it will look great on those who can wear it without it looking too big. That's primarily who this watch is made for... they should try a little harder to market it that way. It's a very nice looking watch and it's heavy. The band is made of Italian Microfibre which is extremely comfortable.
I added two pictures that will at least give you a better idea of what the watch looks like. But it's still hard to give you an idea of the how big the watch is from a picture, but they do show how much different the watch actually looks compared to their picture. The pictures are linked to "See customer's images."
