Amazon.com Product Description Add an edgy accent to your contemporary couture with the black-plated Skagen titanium men's watch, which features a sophisticated design and Skagen's signature, ultra-thin stainless steel and titanium mesh band. The case is made from solid titanium, which is nearly 50 percent lighter than steel, but 30 percent stronger. It's also particularly resistant to salt water corrosion, as well as hypo-allergenic--perfect for those with metal allergies. Measuring 33mm wide, this square case is just 9mm thick and it's topped by a bezel with tiny machine bolt accents. It has a black dial that's complemented by silver stick dial markers, dotted small minute indexes, silver baton hands, and a day-and-date function at 3 o'clock. Other features include a super-hardened, scratch-resistant mineral crystal and precise Japanese quartz movement. This watch is backed by Skagen's limited lifetime warranty, which covers all parts except strap, crystal and battery. About Skagen Named after a fishing hamlet in Denmark on the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula, Skagen Designs was founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst in 1991 after the two Copenhagen natives moved to New York City. The company subscribes to the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. Skagen watches represent the technical excellence, refined design and operational simplicity that have created the unique reputation of Danish design. The fishing village of Skagen--the Skaw--lies where the northern-most tip of the Danish peninsula known as Jutland bends East and breaks the surging waters of the Kattegat and Skagerak seas. The spectacular natural beauty of the area is compellingly beautiful, and its white sandy beaches have been visited by artists for centuries.

Not as advertsed May 27, 2008 Purchased this watch because it was advertised as water resistant up to 90'. Turns out it is really rated only to resist "splashes of water or light rain". Dial can only be seen in the dark after exposure to light, and that lasts for just a few minutes so you can't read it at night or in a dark room. On the plus side it keeps good time and is a very good looking watch.
Perfect May 10, 2008 I bought this because it was unlike most of the Skagen watches you see; round and probably silver. The rectangular shape really sets it apart and is a lot classier in my opinion. The simple time markings and studs on the case only add to that. Also it has the day and date, in english and danish (?), unlike other Skagen watches. It still boasts the light thin feel that all titanium Skagen watches offer. I love this watch.
Solid Choice with Reservations March 2, 2008 Excellent watch--well designed and crafted, exceptionally lightweight--skip the leather band and go with the metallic; my original leather band lasted less than six months and it is expensive to replace ($30+ with shipping)--day/date is unreadable; red lettering on black background gets lost in shade of cutout
stylish watch unique in it's style and character January 19, 2008 The watch arrived promptly and it's price was exceptional for the quality and style. I agree that the red coloured date is hard to read in ambient light but this watch is not about absolute functionality but style if you want the latter buy a digital watch with year, date and day and possibly a chronograph as well as alarm thrown in for free
