Amazon.com Product Description This 21-jewel, automatic watch winds itself with the motion of your wrist, so you'll never need to change the battery. It has a stainless steel case and features a black dial with three-hand function, easy-to-read bar markers, and an English/Spanish day/date window at the three o'clock position. Additional features include a screw-down case and crown, a scratch-resistant Hardlex crystal, and a one-way rotating bezel that keeps track of elapsed time. With its Lumibrite hands, markers, and bezel, this watch is easy to read in both light and dark conditions. Just what I was looking for - keeps great time! August 26, 2008 After much deliberation, I'm very happy I finally purchased this watch. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews here but the watch has been great so far. I've had it for 3 weeks and just today adjusted the time. It was 1 minute fast so I rolled it back - not a problem. With so many sources of highly accurate time (cable box, intranet) its really not difficult. The watch looks great, just the right size and classic style that will always be cool. I especially like that the color of the day text is black during the week, blue on saturday and red on sunday... nice touch. The best feature is that the case looks deep without being huge. No regrets - I love this watch!
Poor quality watch, poor quality service August 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This watch arrived after about 60 days, owing to the fact that I live/ work in Afghanistan, as an aid worker. No fault of ewatches here - they delivered fine to my colleague in the US. I was very disappointed to see this watch is made in Malaysia - this is clear in the reviews, but not on Amazons site, which I think is deceptive. But for the low price, I guess it is not surprising and I would accept this better if the watch worked. It doesnt. Despite being worn for 14+ hours every day, it stops every night after about 2- 3 hours of coming off my wrist. Predictably, regular as clockwork, it stops around 0100 -0200 hours. This morning was no exception. I have of course tried manually winding it via shaking, for 2-3 minutes - no change. I never had this issue with my old Seiko (which was stolen here). I have emailed ewatches 4 times and NO response. Nothing. So - great if it all goes well, I guess, but the test of a good company is how they respond when things go wrong, and in this case ewatches gets ZERO. Luckily there is a warranty so I will be dealing with this in Bangkok next week - lucky for me I have a work trip there. Otherwise dealing with this from AFghanistan is a nightmare. Very disappointd.
Simplicity is the key July 7, 2008 This diver has become my daily driver, replacing a very nice Citizen diver I still have. Its appeal for me is the simple design. It is sort of old-fashioned looking: it looks like an old classic Seiko diver. Very versatile watch as well: I've tried several straps on it and all of them look great. Very highly recommended.
nice watch if you dont care abaut accuracy June 25, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I know these watches since the 80s and i know them well'THEY ARE NOT ACCURATE'. Thats the reason i dont use them anymore. These people that compare this with atomic watches thats a joke. If you dont care abaut accuracy and you are willing to reset the time then is a nice watch. All that talk abut 50 dollars to chanche batteries,a batterie is only 4 dollars and you find them everywhere,i chanched them myself. There are also solar watches, they last forever and they are very acuurate.
Good looking watch, May 27, 2008 I really like this watch! Seiko doesn't publish accuracy information for watches with the 7s26 movement (this watch has one), because it's not terribly impressive (most leave the factory doing +/- 25 seconds a day, whereas an Omega might be built +/-10, but cost MUCH more). They tend to run fast out of the box and then wear in over a month or two. Mine's currently gaining 14 seconds a day (down from 17 secs/day) after a month of wearing it nonstop, which is perfectly acceptable for me.
This watch is very bright, so as long as you were outside for about five minutes, it'll be bright enough to see in the dark for about 12 hours after that. I get up in the morning and it's still pretty bright after being on my wrist under a blanket for the past 8 hours.
As far as Amazon.com went for this watch: I got it right away, but I don't know if I'd buy from amazon again. Amazon isn't an Authorized Dealer for Seiko, so you don't get a legitimate Seiko warranty (at least, not to my knowledge). Seikos are pretty tough as far as automatics go though, so it's unlikely that my watch will crap out. Just something to keep in mind, since ADs abound online and their prices are competitive with amazon.
